Auction Question Time
For many the auction room and it's associated protocols remain an environment unfamiliar to many property investors - which is a great shame as presents a major product sourcing opportunity.
The aim of this session is to dispell the myths and mystique - highlight the opportunities - and answer the questions you were perhaps reluctant to ask. So bring your questions and concerns but leave your cynicism at the door.
Holding the gavel at this session is Essential Information Group's founder David Sandeman and a panel of experienced auction industry practitioners that includes Andrew Brown, John Stockey & Scott Hendry.
Managing Director | Essential Information Group
David purchased his first property at auction in 1984 and has been involved in auctions ever since. In 1990 he set up the Essential Information Group ltd to report on every auction held in the UK.
E I Group provides its clients with information on every property coming to auction by way of database searches and email ‘elerts’- and maintains full information on past lots also.
David is highly respected as one of the UK's auction specialists and is regularly interviewed by the national media for comment on the property auction market. He works closely with Auctioneers to promote the industry.
Director | Together
Scott has been a Director of Together since inception. He has previously worked for one of the UK's largest high street banks and has used his 20 years' experience to identify and implement niches for clients that an independent lender like Together can offer.
John Stockey is a founder member of Clive Emson Auctioneers, Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers.
John is a Director of the company and has been conducting the Kent Auctions for 30 years. Away from the office, John is a keen armchair football pundit and fits in being a taxi driver for his two sons who are both currently at University.
Andrew Brown is Director of Auctions at Strettons, having joined them in January 2019. He has worked in the property industry for 22 years, with the last 16 years in property auctions. Andrew was previously Managing Director at Countrywide Auctions and has held senior positions at Auction House London and Eddisons.
During his career, Andrew has conducted over 300 auctions and during that time has sold in excess of £1BN of property from the rostrum. He has acted for a number of banks, building societies, LPA receivers, insolvency practitioners, asset managers, local authorities and NGOs in the disposal of large residential and commercial portfolios and high value distressed assets.
