Having recently passed a significant ‘coming of age’ milestone (21 years of delivering the market leading Property Investor Show) we thought it an opportune time to reflect on our journey over the years and let you have a look at where we have come from as we gear up for our next event at ExCeL London in October 2023.

Some of our long-standing clients will recall that the genesis of today’s event was an exhibition that ran from the mid-80’s … The Homebuyer Show. The concept was simple – to provide a face-to-face exhibition environment where homebuyers could meet with home sellers – easy!

The take up from both exhibitors and visitors was phenomenal and it was clear that the proposition filled a market need. The initial focus was London, but the1990’s saw us grow exponentially beyond London and run a series of shows all over the UK – primarily in Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. They soon become the must attend for anyone with an interest in the residential property market.

The early noughties saw the emergence of a new trend – the rise of the buy to let market – and with it a complementary opportunity that catered to the landlord and investment communities. The Property Investor Show borne to service the needs of this bourgeoning sector. This new event welcomed a range of new domestic exhibitors that included property service providers, legal advice, auctioneers, property training providers as well as a huge range of international property investment opportunities from all over the world.

However, the world of property is both dynamic and seldom straightforward and the subprime crash of 2007/8 and the subsequent tightening of lending criteria saw us refocus The Property Investor Show on London as our key market.

Our approach over the years has been to showcase what the market wants to see at the exhibition – we follow the temperature of the property market and offer wide range of supporting talks and seminars on what is topical in the industry.

Covid provided another challenge for us when, like the rest of the events industry, we were prevented from running any face-to-face events for 18 months. Faced with a block on live events – and concluding that virtual exhibitions don’t work – we took the opportunity to refresh the brand. We relaunched with a new look website and a communication strategy that emphasised our core proposition – education, inspiration, action.

It’s been an amazing journey and, over the years, we’ve navigated some choppy waters – but above all it’s been fun. We love what we do – bringing visitors and exhibitors together at what Property Investor News Magazine® described as “the Gold Standard event for the property investment and landlord sectors”.

Our most recent event attracted the largest visitor audience since 2009 and, as we prepare to return to ExCeL London on 6 & 7 October, the early signs are that it will another bumper show. Call our sales team to discuss participation and book your slot.
